Most of us are familiar with the Alien vs. Predator movie franchise that in part inspired this AvP t-shirt.  The franchise began in 2004, with a sequel following in 2007.  However, the crossover between the two stories actually started much earlier in 1989, with the publishing of the comic book Dark Horse Presents #34.  In 1990, the movie Predator 2 hit theaters and found the Predator holding up an Alien (Xenomorph) skull as one of his trophies.  In 1993, the video game Alien vs Predator was released, further cementing the connection between the two movies.  This Alien vs. Predator shirt ads another popular element to the mix by displaying an AvP design inspired by the 1990s video game Street Fighter II.
