Zebra Tees Site Review | Summary:

Zebra Tees offers a selection of 6+ limited edition shirts per week at $9 each. Why is the price lower than most other limited edition tee sites? Well, if you haven't already figured it out from their name, Zebra Tees features shirts with designs that utilize only one color, mainly white and sometimes gray. This drives down their ink costs, allowing them to charge a bit less. However, the price drop is perhaps only significant when you compare it to the other shirt sites that are operated by the same company, including Blue Box Tees and Weekly Shirts, which both currently charge $12 per shirt. When compared with sites like RIPT Apparel ($10 per shirt) and TeeFury ($11 per shirt), the savings are barely anything to rave about. And given that Zebra Tees is only using one color and offering the same shirts for a whole week, I would have hoped that they could have pulled off a lower price point, even though $9 is still less than most. It should also be noted that when other sites that charge more feature a simple black and white or black and gray design, they do not drop the price. So in those cases, customers are often overcharged. At least here the site is designed around the black and white, single color concept.

By featuring limited edition black and white t-shirt designs, the company behind Zebra Tees is again going after a specific niche. Price is the biggest motivator here and it's hard to say whether the price is attractive enough for Zebra Tees to gain a significant following. This is the same company that started the horror tee site SpookyTees.com (now defunct) and the sci-fi t-shirt site CosmosTees.com (now defunct) last year. They also started WeeklyShirts.com and the Doctor Who tee site BlueBoxTees.com. The initial concept of the former has been changed and it now looks like their other sites. Blue Box Tees is by far their most popular. I don't blame them for abandoning the sites that weren't working out. Hopefully, Zebra Tees will find its audience. After all, who doesn't like black and gray shirts?
