I saw this sake t-shirt and couldn’t resist posting it. The play on words and simple Asian style design caught my attention, so I’m having trouble getting it out of my head. Needless to say, it can be chalked up to another tee for my personal collection and yours too.

Sake or Nihonshu is a Japanese alcoholic beverage often referred to as rice wine. Although it is called wine, the drink is not processed by typical winery fermentation methods because of its lack of sugar content. The processing is similar to beer because of the rice’s starch content, but it is still quite different in actual steps. Pure sake contains 18-20% alcohol making it much more potent than wine or beer. It is served hot, cold, or at room temperature depending on personal preference and sake quality. It can also be mixed for cocktails. Sake is often used in Shinto religion rituals and many Japanese celebrations.
