Description:

For a substantial period of time between 1983 and 1986, the Commodore 64 home computer was the bestselling personal computer on the market, besting offerings by both IBM and Apple.  This C64 iPhone case features the 8-bit computer’s familiar keyboard that housed the computer itself, minus the disk drive.  Why did it sell so well?  The main reason for the Commodore 64’s success was due to the fact that it could be purchased in retail stores instead of electronics shops.  The company also produced many of its own parts, which drove down cost.  For example, it debuted in 1982 with an asking price of $595.  Compare that to the Apple II at $1200.  If you were weaned on the C64 and any of its roughly 10,000 commercial software titles (many of them games), then this Commodore 64 iPhone case is the perfect tribute to the home computer that introduced many middle-class households to personal computing.
