To say the U.S. cartoon Voltron was adapted from the Japanese cartoons Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV is a gross understatement.  The animation for both seasons of Voltron was actually trimmed and edited directly from these two Japanese cartoons.  This is by no means a knock against the U.S. version.   After all, the idea of being able to pilot a mechanical lion that joins together with other similar mechanical lions to form a super robot named Voltron is an alluring concept.  It makes me wonder what other great Japanese cartoons we’ve missed out on here in the states.  This Voltron t-shirt displays a dazzling artistic interpretation that combines the Defender of the Universe with Tron.  The shirt is available in men’s, women’s and kids sizes.
